Stay

In our luxury shepherd's hut, in the picturesque Monmouthshire countryside

The hut is a luxury stay place and we’ve tried to cater for all your needs. Think luxury hotel in a feld. In this section we will tell you about who we are and how we went about setting up the hut.

So what’s it all about?

We moved to Monmouthshire in 2007, and converted a barn set in a courtyard within the Warrage farm. The Warrage farm was part of the Raglan Estate where the Army horses were kept belonging to the Castle. It is reported that Oliver Cromwell resided in the farm house, hence the name Cromwell’s Hideaway.I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years, and when my job was made redundant, we decided to create a piece of luxury on our land.

We both love the area, and we have outstanding views of Raglan Castle and the Brecon Beacons surrounded by farmland. I want to provide high end luxury accommodation, somewhere where you can switch off, relax and enjoy the countryside and wildlife. My passion is providing passionate hospitality in an area of outstanding national beauty. For us we have tried to create high end accommodation, a place where you can get away from it all – Pure relaxation.

The hut is in a secluded spot beyond a large pond area, perfect for a Shepherds hut, totally private and in keeping with the surrounding farmland. When we started looking at huts, we looked at a number of manufacture’s, but as we were looking for a high end bespoke product we went with blackmountainshepherdshuts.co.uk. Martin and Charlotte were so professional and have been an enormous help allowing us to create our perfect hideaway.

What we want from you. . .

We want you to have a great time when you come to stay with us, and we have geared everything around that making it happen, so from relaxing music to a snuggly bed, hearing the owls hoot at night we think we have everything covered.

However if you would like any information about sightseeing or getting a bit more active, or restaurant bookings we can arrange most things to suit, so please just ask.
